Chicagoland and several areas around the world had good weather and good sky conditions as the moon was approaching the New Moon Phase with only a slight sliver for a crescent moon. Perseid meteor showers peaked last night with the earth passing through the thick of the debris cloud of the comet Swift-Tuttle, but will still be active for the next several days.
