Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:56 AM Friday to a fire in a public works well pump building at 3702 North Kennicott Ave Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that smoke was coming from the well pump site at Nickoll Knoll.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported water flowing from the building. Also on arrival Arlington Heights Battalion Chief 1 reported smoke showing from a vent.
Crews inside the building reported a light haze at 11:02 a.m.
Firefighters investigating and discovered fire in roof housing by 11:08 a.m.
Firefighters needed to open the roof with a circular saw, and doused the fire with a hose line. The fire was reported under control by about 11:22 a.m.
