Chicago police and Chicago Fire Department paramedics responded about 10:30 p.m. Monday to a report of a gunshot victim involving an off-duty Cook County correctional officer. The off-duty male correctional officer in uniform was shot in the leg in an alley behind his mother’s Little Village home, police said.

The shooting was a drive-by shooting involving a shooter in a minivan. The driver fled north in the alley.
The Cook County correctional officer was transported to Stroger Hospital. His condition was listed as stable.
