Thunderstorms with lightning and high winds caused problems in the northwest suburbs about 5:30 a.m. Monday morning.
Barricades were blown over at Hintz Road and Wolf Road in Wheeling.
Over 500 ComEd customers were without power between Dundee Road and Lake Cook Road west of Milwaukee Avenue.
About 200 ComEd customers were without power near Golf Road and Meacham Road in Schaumburg.
About 200 ComEd customers were without power near Signal Hill Road northeast of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital.
About 90 ComEd customers were without power near Main Street in Fox River Grove.
Power lines were downed at many of the locations.

More severe storms hit the area of LaSalle County, De Kalb County and Bureau County. A large mesocyclone also passed through Ottawa, Illinois.
A barn fire and a house fire may have been caused by lightning strikes in Steward and Sandwich, Illinois.
Hundreds of ComEd customers were without power southwest, west and northwest of Sandwich in Earlville, leland, Shabonna, Waterman, Malta, De Kalb, Cortland, Sycamore.
According to the NOAA Storm Prediction Center, the Convective Outlook puts the most severe weather risk for today south and west of Chicagoland — especially near west-central Illinois and south-central Illinois.
The heat index is expected to rise in rural counties from Lee County to Iroquois County and west. Wet, mature corn crops are expected to contribute to high humidity in the area and contribute to Heat Index values of 95 to 105°F.
The heat index in the northwest suburbs is expected to reach as high as 99°F.
Rapid thunderstorm growth is possible, but the most severe weather is expected south and west of north and northwest suburbs of Chicago.
