Barricaded Subject, Standoff on Randville Drive Near Williams Drive Palatine.
Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:58 PM Sunday to a report of a possible psychiatric emergency at Randville Drive and Williams Drive Palatine, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a man was threatening to harm himself. A witness in the neighborhood said that a man in his 30’s would not come to the door after threatening suicide.
The witness said she did not believe the man had a weapon, but Palatine police were taking precautions at the scene.
Police appeared to try to enter the rear sliding door that faces Williams Drive about 5:55 p.m. At least one police officer was holding a ballistic shield as police officers approached the rear sliding glass door with rifles and non-lethal weapons.
Police then went around to the front of the townhouse and the man was brought out to an ambulance. Paramedics transported the man to Northwest Community Hospital, and police left the neighborhood by about 6:30 p.m.
