Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:25 PM Monday to a report of two pedestrians hit by a car at Northwest Highway and Smith Street Palatine, IL. Firefighter/paramedics found two people with serious injuries. Both patients were transported by Palatine firefighter/paramedics — one in Ambulance 83 and one in Ambulance 81.

Extra paramedics assisted the regular two-person crew in each ambulance. Both patients were transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
