Hoffman Estates police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:27 PM Saturday to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at Thacker Street and Illinois Boulevard Hoffman Estates, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a girl was unconscious after being hit by a vehicle on Illinois Boulevard near Thacker Street.
Witness on scene reported the girl was unconscious immediately after being hit by the vehicle.
Firefighter/paramedics transported the patient to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Aleeza Haq, age 5, was pronounced dead at 6:18 p.m. Saturday at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
No traffic citations or arrests are expected in the accident.
The incident is the second fatality in two weeks involving a child pedestrian in the northwest suburbs. A 5-year-old boy was hit by a car on Palatine Road in Palatine on Monday, June 1, 2015. He died the following day — just about nine hours after he was hit by a car.
