Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:17 AM Wednesday to a report of a garage fire at a residence at 1119 West Noyes Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that plumbers were working in the attached garage area when a fire was ignited by a torch.
Firefighters on arrival reported nothing showing, and immediately went to work checking for extension into the basement and attic areas.
Fire was no longer visible in the garage when firefighters arrived.
The fire was reported extinguished in about 15 minutes.
Coincidentally Palatine Rural and Palatine firefighter/paramedics responded at the same time to fire caused by contractors sweating pipes at a house at 351 Windsor Lane in Inverness.
The Inverness fire, which involved insulation catching fire, was also extinguished within about 15 minutes. Palatine Rural firefighters also checked for extension as the fire was extinguished.
