Illinois State Police and Palatine firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:26 PM Thursday to a crash involving a light pole down on southbound Route 53 and Dundee Road Palatine, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a light pole was across all lanes of southbound Route 53, just north of Dundee Road.
Police on the scene found three vehicles and a boat and trailer involved in the crash. The extra vehicles might have only hit debris from the downed light pole.
The boat and trailer were located in a ditch, but police discovered none of the vehicles on the scene could have been towing the boat trailer.
Illinois State Police are investigating, and are looking for the owner of the boat and/or the driver and vehicle that was towing the boat.
