Midway International is scheduled to conduct a required airplane major emergency simulation to test the airport’s response procedures on Saturday, June 6, 2015. The simulation test begins at 8:00 a.m.
The Chicago Department of Aviation reports the simulation is scheduled to take place Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Midway International Airport and will involve about 90 volunteers posing as airline passengers. Many of the volunteers will have theatrical makeup applied for added realism to the simulation.
More than 20 responding emergency units will participate, including Chicago fire equipment and ambulances.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires the simulations every three years.
