Dear Paul B,
I am shocked by the death of this little boy on Monday. He was so young, and yet, I don’t understand where the supervision was at the time. Nobody seemed to be there with the boy and this dog. I know that I always made certain where my kids were, even when they were ten or twelve. I feel so sick about this. I know you will have an opinion. I think the boys parents should be held responsible.
Cassie
Dear Cassie,
Shocked, sick, sad, and very damn angry—that’s MY TAKE. Pit Bull? Rottweiler? Who in their right mind would own one of these? Why are they even ALLOWED? Would you leave a hand grenade in your living room for your five year old to play with? Darn it, PEOPLE, these are human lives we are sacrificing here! How many hundreds, or perhaps thousands (many instances NOT reported) must there be before we put a stop to the existence of these dogs? This poor little five year old boy could not defend himself when this killer dog decided that he would chomp on his neck and drag his lifeless body down the street. Once the neighbors noticed, their sticks, pipes and efforts to save baby James were futile. Pit Bulls jaws will lock onto a child and NEVER loosen it’s death grip, until it is killed.
A “dog whisperer,” was quoted that “all dogs have an aggressive side.” What a crock of dog feces! So, this could happen with my 10 pound Shih-Tzu, Peanut? My dog has trouble dragging a slipper around the floor. His weight, size of his JAW and head make it an impossibility to KILL a person. A Collie, Schnauzer, Yellow Lab, Dachshund, or dozens of other breeds could not and WOULD NOT kill a person. This so-called dog whisperer is protecting her job. She doesn’t need to be called in to whisper to a Maltese to eat her to learn to heel or eat her dog treats. No way, this dog whisperer “CLAIMS” to be able to teach killer dogs to be tame, of course, unless she can’t! Then you have a dead five year old boy on your hands. I guess she doesn’t collect her fee, right? NO WAY these dogs should EVER roam the earth, EVER. We are told how to avoid eye contact with these KILLERS, how “not to run,” and, and and…. I am NOT living my life, in fear of one of these KILLERS attacking my kids or I, because his owner didn’t “whisper” the right words to him. Are we afraid of “upsetting” dog owners? Awwww..that’s too bad. Even the best, most responsible dog owners do NOT know when these Killers will Kill! Why should my family pay the price?
Dog owners are NOT responsible, as is the case here. James’ Grandparents did NOT know where he was. Shame on them. Should Baby James be dead because he wanted to pet the dog that took his life? Where was the owner? Could the owner have saved James’ life? Are we to blame Baby James because he looked cross-eyed at this Killer Dog? I am sickened by this death, because it was AVOIDABLE. Legislation against Pit Bulls and Rottweilers NOW. We are all much safer with a grenade in our living room. You know it could go off, but it won’t chase you down, and you won’t suffer.
