VIDEO: Arlington Heights firefighters and staff from the building department check for structural damage related to a strip mall building post in front of 1701 West Campbell Street that was hit by a car Tuesday evening.
Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:20 PM Tuesday to a report of a crash into a building at 1705 West Campbell Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a vehicle hit the strip mall building near Ace Hardware, but closer to the Cake Box. The crash was actually into a post in front of a Cleaners between the Cake Box and Ace Hardware.
The driver refused an ambulance. Firefighters were checking for structural damage by about 5:27 p.m. They reported they were inspecting the west side of the building, so the exact location was not confirmed at 5:30 p.m.
Firefighters confirmed that the building department is needed to inspect for structural damage.
