VIDEO: Accident scene after a girl was hit by a car north of Starbucks, just east of Evergreen Avenue, Arlington Heights.
Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:52 PM Friday to a report of a pedestrian hit by a car near Starbucks, 33 South Evergreen Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived to find a large crowd in the area and a teen girl injured.
Witnesses reported a 13-year-old girl that attends South Middle School was hit by a car. Witnesses also said she had a serious leg injury.
Firefighter/paramedics transported the teen to Northwest Community Hospital.
Police investigated the scene and performed a routine field sobriety test of the driver. The driver was not arrested. The driver’s vehicle was towed to an unknown location after taking some measurements at the scene and/or marking wheel positions for the vehicle.
A large amount of coffee was spilled at the scene of impact near the exit to Evergreen Avenue — north of Starbucks and south of Jos A Bank and California Pizza Kitchen.
Police are investigating the incident. A mother and her baby in a stroller were hit by a car near the same location on Saturday, March 24, 2015, 2014 at about 12:24 p.m. The injuries in that incident were not believed to be serious.
