Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:12 PM Wednesday to a report of crash with injuries at Half Day Road and Acacia Terrace Buffalo Grove, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a crash with entrapment with the driver in the truck reported to be trapped. There was minor extrication or no extrication — not confirmed.
First firefighters on the scene reported that a pesticide vehicle resulted in a ruptured tank with contents leaking. Firefighters immediately went to work diking the unknown spilled chemical.
A second ambulance was returned, but the second ambulance was requested to return to the scene about 3:36 p.m. when a crash victim changed their mind about needing an ambulance.
At least one person was transported to Highland Park Hospital.
The owner of the company with the pesticide truck responded to the scene to help firefighters with clean up at the scene.
There was no confirmation of the chemical available at the time of this report. No extra alarm HazMat response was requested.
A small, contained hazmat spill has caused a partial road closure @ Half Day Rd & Acacia Ter. for approx. 1 hour. Avoid the area if possible
