VIDEO: Apartment building where Arlington Heights Fire Department firefighter/paramedic’s and police were called to a report of an unresponsive two-year-old female that was not breathing.
Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:13 PM Thursday to a report of an unresponsive two-year-old female at Tanglewood Apartments, 2130 South Goebbert Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedic’s received a report that a two-year-old female was unconscious and not breathing at an apartment building. Firefighter/paramedics responded immediately and were apparently working Advanced Life Support treatment and transported the female to a local hospital.
The female victim was either transported directly to Lurie Children’s Hospital, or was transported to a local hospital first, and then transferred to Lurie Children’s Hospital. The victim, who was identified as Hailey Yale, died at Lurie Children’s Hospital at 11:35 p.m. Friday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The case is considered pending after the autopsy and is subject to additional studies.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is investigating possible previous allegations of neglect.
A sibling of the victim was placed with a relative under a DCFS-supervised safety plan.
Arlington Heights Police Department had not realeased any press release about a death investigation more than 48 hours after the victim’s death and more than 72 hours after the victim was reported unresponsive.
