Car crash into pole and fence on Buffalo Grove rd at Downing Road.
Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:52 PM Saturday to a report of crash with injuries at Buffalo Grove Road and Downing Road Buffalo Grove, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a vehicle crash involved a vehicle landing on top of a person.
Police on scene reported that no people were trapped under any vehicles. One person was down on the ground, but was later up walking.
Police possibly had one person in custody on this incident. At least one person fled the scene on foot after this crash. An SUV crossover vehicle was apparently southbound on Buffalo Grove Road when it left the roadway. The vehicle grazed a wood ComEd pole, crossed the sidewalk, and hit a fence and spun about 90 degrees.
Police were investigating whether a male or female was driving the vehicle. Two people were transported to Northwest Community Hospital. Police officers from Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights, and Cook County Sheriff’s police were on the scene. The location where the vehicle came to rest was possible the jurisdiction of Arlington Heights Police Department.
Firefighter/paramedic crews from A26, A27, E4, TL4 and BC4 were on the scene.
ComEd crews also responded to check the safety of the pole and overhead power lines.
