UPDATE: Chevy Equinox found in Kankakee; suspect still at large. Knocked guard unconscious.
A convicted murderer, Kamron T. Taylor, age 23, escaped from Jerome Combs Detention Center about 3 a.m. Wednesday in Kankakee County, authorities report.
Kamron T. Taylor reportedly overpowered a correctional officer, took his keys and uniform, and escaped from the detention center in the correctional officer’s brown 2012 Chevrolet Equinox (Illinois license plate P 506 660).

Taylor is described as a male/black subject, age 23, 5′ 9″ tall and about 170 pounds. Anyone with information about him is urged to call 911 or 815-933-3324 immediately. Kamron Taylor is considered armed and dangerous.
Taylor was convicted of first-degree murder for the June 2013 slaying of 21-year-old Nelson Williams Jr. during a botched robbery at Williams’ home in Kankakee. Taylor faces a sentence of 45 years to life.
