UPDATE: Leak stopped, ramp re-opened about 9:15 a.m.
Illinois State police and Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:21 AM Friday to a report of a gas leak at Arlington Heights Road and Interstate 90 Arlington Heights, IL. Illinois State Police and Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics received a report that a construction crew hit a gas line near the ramp from southbound Arlington Heights Road to westbound I-90.
Firefighters confirmed that a gas line was ruptured and reported a 2-inch line was involved. NICOR requested to expedite.
The ramp from southbound Arlington Heights Road to westbound Interstate 90 was shut down at about 8:27 a.m.
WIND has been calm since about 8:00 p.m. Thursday night.
