Illinois State police responded about 3:51 AM Tuesday to a report of shots fired 41.880905,-87.645484 (Northbound I-90/94 and Madison St). Illinois State Police received a report of shots fired at a truck at I-90 northbound at Madison Street. A white semi-trailer truck was hit by at least three bullets.
The crime is reported to have occurred just before 2:50 a.m.
The suspect’s vehicle is possibly a gold Chevrolet Impala. The offending driver is possibly a male/Hispanic subject.

Police also closed down the Edens Expressway northbound and southbound about 3:30 a.m. for an investigation related to the shooting near Madison Street. The northbound lanes of the Edens Expressway were closed at Touhy Avenue and the southbound lanes of the Edens Expressway were closed at Dempster Street. Traffic that was already within the blocked traffic range appeared to be blocked especially in the northbound lanes south of Lincoln Avenue and east of Niles West High School. Police may have been searching for bullets and casings in this area of the Edens Expressway in a addition to the other site near Madison Street.
Northbound I-90/94 at Madison Street was still closed or congested at 5:00 a.m. Part of the investigation included a search for bullets and casings. Traffic was backed up to about Cermak Road.
The St. Patrick’s Day shooting site on northbound I-90/94 near Madison Street is one or two blocks from Old St. Patrick’s Church at 700 West Adams Street.
The driver or other occupant of the vehicle involved in the shooting is wanted for Unlawful Use of Weapon.
