The missing 18-year-old student believed to be in possession of a firearm that caused a soft lockdown at local school districts in Cary, Crystal Lake, Lake in the Hills and McHenry County on Monday March 2, 2015, was found dead Monday, March 9, 2015.

Police responded to a possible shooting incident at the northwest baseball field at Canterbury Park north of Canterbury Elementary School on Canterbury Drive at about 4:18 p.m. Police discovered the body with a gun nearby and after investigation determined the deceased was a victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Later police identified the victim as Adrian Salazar, who had been missing since March 1, 2015.
Salazar was a senior on the varsity wrestling team roster in the class of 2015 at Crystal Lake Central High School.
