Local school districts in Cary, Crystal Lake, Lake in the Hills and McHenry County are on soft lockdown as police search for missing 18-year-old male who is believed to be despondent and possibly in possession of a firearm.

Police are currently for missing senior Adrian Salazar, who left his home late Sunday and has had not returned Monday morning. Crystal Lake police communicated to the public that an initial investigation found that Salazar posted despondent statements on social media. Multiple police agencies are conducting a search for Salazar with the belief that he possibly may need assistance returning home safely.
Adrian Salazar, 5’6″ 125 LBS with brown hair and brown eyes, was last seen wearing a black sweater and black pants.
According to Crystal Lake Central website, Salazar is listed on the varsity wrestling team roster and as a member of the class of 2015.
Crystal Lake Police Department is asking anyone with information on Salazar’s location or any other helpful information to call the department at 815-356-3741 or 815-356-3640. Police urge that anyone who sees Salazar should not approach him, but instead call 911 and report their location and observations.
Prairie Grove School District 46, Community High School District 155 in McHenry County, District 47 in Crystal Lake and parts of Lake in the Hills, and Cary District 26 were in a soft lockdown situation Monday, as a result of the missing, possibly armed, student.
During school day dismissal, school buses will be released one-by-one, and there will be more staff outside during dismissal if Salazar has not been located.
In most soft lockdowns parents are not allowed to enter the school building, but staff are allowed to enter and leave the building.
