Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:33 AM Saturday to a report of a townhouse fire at 120 Waterbury Lane Schaumburg, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a dryer fire with flames and smoke visible.
Schaumburg’s Engine 51 crew was first on the scene and reported nothing showing from the outside.
Inside a fire as spreading up cabinets and through a door in the laundry room. Firefighters encountered a frozen hydrant soon after arrival, but were able to find a second functioning hydrant.
Schaumburg’s Battalion Chief requested a working fire response at 9:42 am. just after firefighters began setting up ladders to one side of the side of the two-story townhouse.
Firefighters helped several residents with evacuation, and extinguished the fire by 9:53 a.m.
At least one resident was checked by paramedics after the fire.
