VIDEO: Field Sobriety Test and suspected DUI arrest on Hawthorne Street west of Douglas Avenue in Arlington Heights early Sunday morning.
Arlington Heights police arrested a DUI driver 6:29 AM Sunday on westbound Hawthorne Street west of the intersection of Hawthorne Street and Douglas Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police observed a driver stopped in the street in a white 4-door sedan. The driver was observed behind the wheel with his chin to his chest and sleeping in his car.
The driver woke up when police arrived, but not initially when police approached his vehicle.
Police administered a field sobriety test, which the driver apparently failed. The driver was also observed possibly refusing a Portable Breathalyzer Test (PBT) at the scene. The driver was immediately handcuffed after refusing the PBT. He was then transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters.
The driver’s white Kia Optima was towed to a police holding area.
