Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:06 PM Sunday to a report of a train-pedestrian incident near the downtown Metra train station, 45 West Northwest Highway Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a man was hit by a train on the south side of the train tracks near the Vail Street Market Jewel-Osco.
Police arrived on the scene first and reported the man was conscious and speaking.
Metra reports that Train #723, scheduled to arrive Harvard at 8:20 p.m., and train #725, scheduled to arrive Harvard at 10:20 p.m., were combines have both been involved in a grade crossing incident near Arlington Heights. Apparently because of the weather, both trains were combined and were both stopped because of grade crossing incident. Train #723 is approximately 172 minutes late and train #725 is approximately 51 minutes late. Updates will be posted as soon as the train are on the move.
