Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:22 AM Thursday to a report of a car fire with an explosion at the Rolling Meadows Cook County Circuit Courthouse, 2121 West Euclid Avenue Rolling Meadows, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a car was on fire on the top level of the Rolling Meadows Cook County Circuit Courthouse.
There are also reports of additional cars nearby that were exposed to the initial car fire.
Motorists were evacuating their cars from the parking garage during firefighter operations.
Firefighters reported black smoke coming from the top level of the garage on arrival.
Firefighters at 9:28 a.m. report they had a car fire in the middle of the top deck. Firefighters calling for a saw up to the top floor.
A rough job this morning as firefighters were possibly carrying up a hotel pack up to the top level and then dropping the hose line to the fire engine hooked to a hydrant below. Engine 15’s crew report they had no water on their line at about 9:33 a.m.
Firefighters were also using a dry chemical extinguisher at about 9:40 a.m.
Expect delays at eastbound Euclid Avenue near Wilke Road.
