Niles police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:59 p.m. Monday to the parkway near the street in front of 6834 Dobson to the report of a person found lying in the snow. A person shoveling snow said he found the body of 55-year-old Elizabeth A. Lutz in the snow in the parkway.
A Niles police officer first on the scene found “the victim lying face down in the parkway” and “attempted to get a response, but was unsuccessful,” according to Nile Police Department. The police officer tried CPR, and the woman was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, She was pronounced dead an hour later.
The person who found the woman told police he started shoveling about 5:15 p.m. and saw something in the parkway he “thought was a garbage bag.”
After about 40 minutes of shoveling, the snow shoveler recognized that the figure was a person lying in the snow.
The woman was dressed for winter weather. There were no visible signs of injury on her body. An autopsy conducted today was inconclusive, , but results are pending according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
