VIDEO: Operation Santa Chicago Police Memorial Foundation Santa tour with Chicago Police Department and Illinois State Police escort in Arlington Heights.
Chicago police and Illinois State police were spotted on Palatine Road near Arlington Heights Road today about noon escorting a Secret Service limousine with an entourage of SUVs and limousine buses. Was it the First Family on a visit to Chicago? Nope. President Barack Obama arrived in Honolulu, Hawaii today. Was it Senator Mark Kirk rushing home with a bootleg copy of Sony Pictures’ “The Interview” — evading North Korean spies and operatives? Nope.
It was Operation Santa courtesy of the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.
Santa and Mrs. Claus are on a two-day tour Saturday and Sunday, riding in a secret service limousine with an entourage including select elves, Frosty the Snowman, and Chicago Police Superintendent Garry F. McCarthy (not in order of importance). This weekend, they are delivering presents and good cheer to 21 families of fallen and catastrophically injured Chicago Police heroes and their children. Part of the tour of gift-giving and good cheer includes a family in Arlington Heights.
Operation Santa is under direction of the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.
