Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:41 AM Thursday to a report of a cross country runner hit by a car at Palatine Road and Rohlwing Road Palatine, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that an 18-year-old male runner was hit by a car on Palatine Road near Rohlwing Road.
One male patient — a Palatine High School cross country runner — was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital by Palatine Rescue Ambulance 83’s crew with an extra paramedic on board.
An Accident Investigation Team is on the scene at the crash site. Expect roads in the area to involve road blocks and/or diversions. The runner was hit by a silver or gray 2000 Chevrolet Camaro that had turned left from southbound Rohlwing Road to eastbound Palatine Road. The driver was a 39-year-old Palatine man, who witnesses reported had a green light for Rohlwing Road.
