A Washington man, David Kalac, is considered a suspect in the killing of his live-in girlfriend’s death after graphic online photos showed her body following her murder.
A man suspected of killing a Port Orchard woman and posting grisly photos of her battered body online is believed to be in the Portland, Ore., area and remains on the loose after he eluded officers during a high-speed chase there, police said.
Portland police about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday began a pursuit of a man suspected of killing his girlfriend when officers spotted the dead woman’s gold 2001 Ford Focus with the Washington state license 495-YLY at Southeast 9th Avenue and Powell Boulevard in Portland.
Portland believed the car was being driven by the murder suspect David Kalac, 33, who had been her boyfriend.
Officers tried to pull the driver of the car over, but he sped away and led police on a high-speed pursuit that was terminated when he began swerving into oncoming traffic. The car was last seen southbound on Barbur Boulevard.

The dead woman was identified as Amber Lynn Coplin, 30, after she was apparently killed late Monday or early Tuesday following a loud argument at her apartment with Kalac.
Her body was found by her ex-husband about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday after his son called him to check on her.
Posted along with the graphic photos that the suspect uploaded was a statement about planning a “suicide by cop” incident …
“Check the news for Port Orchard Washington in a few hours. Her son will be home from school soon. He’ll find her, then call the cops. I just wanted to share the pics before they find me. I bought a BB gun that looks realistic enough. When they come, I’ll pull it and it will be suicide by cop. I understand the doubts. Just check the (expletive) news. I have to lose my phone now … Turns out its way harder to strangle someone to death than it looks on the movies. She fought so Damn hard.”

Kalac is described as a white male, standing 6’2″ tall, weighing 220 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Kalac is believed to be armed and dangerous. Police urge citizens who see him or the gold 2001 Ford Focus to call 911.
