VIDEO: A crash off the ramp from northbound Route 53 to Rand Road was one crash of an estimated 50 or more personal injury and property damage crashes in the northwest suburbs Saturday night.
Illinois State Police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:30 PM Saturday to Rand Road and Route 53 Palatine, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a person might have been trapped in a vehicle. Firefigher/paramedics arrived on the scene and discovered all people were out of their vehicles.
People involved in the crash received minor or no injuries from the collision.
The ramp at northbound Route 53 to Rand Road is a steep decline and was affected by black ice.
A Scion vehicle apparently left the roadway after hitting the rear end of a Honda minivan.
