CBS 2 Investigators: Fake Driver’s Licenses flooding in from China.
Remember how the new Illinois driver’s licenses were supposed to thwart counterfeit operations? There are fake licenses coming in from China with an imitation of the actual Illinois hologram that is difficult to distinguish from the real thing. However, the hologram does not pass the laser light test.
Being caught with a fake license can lead to loss of your real license and jail time. The fake license cost $150.
