Thirteen Vehicle Burglaries On Or About Monday August 4 Questions Effectiveness of Secret Military Grade Encrypted Police Radios in Arlington Heights

... #ad▼

Police received a report of thirteen vehicle burglaries occurring on the south side, center parts of town and north side of town — all occurring around August 4, 2014.

Burglars have apparently not been thwarted by an expensive military grade secret encrypted police radio system implemented June 5, 2013, that some police brass boasted would make it easier to catch thieves because offenders could no longer listen in on police calls with scanners or smartphone apps.

The Cardinal has predicted that crime might actually increase as secret police communications prohibits the real-time involvement of the eyes and ears of the public, which far outweighs a limited number of police officers on the street regarding the detection of crime and the awareness of crime. The secret police communications actually creates opportunities for criminals to overcome an uninformed public.

Vehicle burglars hit 10 locked vehicles and three unlocked vehicles between Sunday August 3, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. and Tuesday August 5, 2014 at 11:30 a.m.

Notification to the public by the Arlington Heights Police Department did not occur until Wednesday August 6, 2014 at 4:48 p.m. This means that people have less chance to take extra precautions for the outbreak — an outbreak that resulted in more forced entries than usual.
