Mayor Hayes and the Arlington Heights Village Board of Trustees are proud to announce that Randall Recklaus, 39, has accepted the position of Village Manager of Arlington Heights. Mr. Recklaus, currently the Village Manager of Clarendon Hills, plans to start his new leadership position in Arlington Heights sometime in early November.
Terms of Randy’s employment have been agreed to and the Village Board is expected to approve a formal Employment Agreement at its meeting on September 15. His starting salary will be $180,000. In his role as Village Manager, Randy will oversee a staff of more than 430 employees and administer a budget of over $154 million.
His vast experience in all aspects of municipal management provides a strong foundation as Arlington Heights’ fifth Village Manager in the 60 years of the Village’s Council-Manager form of government. In his years as a municipal leader, Randy has many accomplishments in the areas of fiscal responsibility, intergovernmental cooperation, economic development, human resources management, municipal-process improvement, communications and public outreach.
“After a diligent three month search process, the Village Board is confident that we found the right person to manage and serve the Village of Arlington Heights for many years to come,” said Mayor Tom Hayes. “Randy’s professionalism, leadership skills, and team-oriented approach to customer service quickly became apparent during the interview process. We look forward to introducing Randy to the staff, and our residents and businesses, upon his arrival in early November.”
Randy’s educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from Northern Illinois University, and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Urban Management. He was also featured as one of the Emerging Leaders in Local Government Network’s “Nifty 50” in November, 2013.
Randy replaces Bill Dixon who retired as Arlington Heights Village Manager in June 2014 after 21 years of service with the Village. Arlington Heights looks forward to welcoming Randy, his wife Tracy, and his two young children to our community.
