Meadows Christian Fellowship Church in Rolling Meadows will host “Cinema Under The Stars,” an annual community movie in the church parking lot featuring the Disney movie “Frozen.”
The Rolling Meadows church is featuring 8 tons of snow for full ambience of along with the movie.
The snow will start blowing into the church parking lot at about 5 p.m. or 5:30 p.m., and keep going until the movie starts at 8:45 p.m.
Visitors are encouraged to wear snow boots and gloves, but with shorts and T-shirt.
Dieter Strum, owner of Wisconsin-based Snow Making by Sturm, will deliver the snow as it is made on location. Dieter Strum is known for his special effects work in movies like Fargo and Planes, Trains and Automobiles. He expects use 8 tons of ice to create the snow.
The snow-making truck is capable of blowing 800 pounds of snow per minute.
After the snow, the movie “Frozen” will begin at 8:45 p.m. on a big outdoor screen. The church will hand out lyrics sheets for all the songs in the movie’s soundtrack so they can sing along if they want.
Meadows Christian Fellowship Church is located at 2401 Kirchoff Road in Rolling Meadows.
Additional fun as the Meadows Cruise Nights car show will continue as scheduled tonight as it does on Friday nights from May 23 2014 to September 26, 2014 this year.
