Dear Paul B Readers,
I am saddened by Robin Williams loss. He was a credit to the entertainment industry. I laughed along with everyone at his shows, movies, appearances on late night TV, as well as his lofty goals of helping the needy, and sick. He gave back to society in many ways, as it is incumbent for anyone, especially those of us in the limelight. Many who could contribute to charity do not, so I am quite pleased to have supported his humanitarian efforts.
A big “however,” I must add, is the fact that Mr. Williams left us under a HUGE CLOUD. What message did he deliver to his family and huge fan base? His “demons” indeed consumed him, but only because he allowed this to occur. Young people who are drug users and abusers must have noticed that this VIP of sorts was unable or unwilling to stay the course. It takes confidence, inner strength, hard work and love of family to beat any drug or alcohol issue. Williams “chose” to take the easy way out. I do mourn his loss to everyone, but he caved to his demons, and for this, I weep for his family and close friends. For those who are brave enough to continue the fight, each and every day, I salute you. Warriors who struggle to defeat these horrible obstacles, please, keep on keepin’ on. You are My Heroes!
