First firefighter/paramedics on the scene reported one bus rolled over with two buses crashed in the intersection.
Two buses from Arlington Heights-based Clearbrook Center with passengers aboard crashed in the intersection. Both buses had severe damage from the crash. Both buses had front-end damage, and the bus that rolled over showed T-bone type damage on the left side in the middle of the bus. It is unknown at this time if the side damage was caused by the front end of the other bus, or by impact with a pole. Two poles were downed in the crash. It is likely the side damage was caused when the rolled bus was broadsided.
At least four people were transported to hospitals — three to Northwest Community Hospital and one to Alexian Brothers Medical Center.
All victims were reported transported CODE GREEN (apparent minor injuries).
Palatine firefighter/paramedics also responded to the scene.
