Traffic signals were out from Thomas Street to Olive Street, but traffic signals were working along Arlington Heights Road at Lillian, Palatine Road, Oakton, St James crosswalk, and Euclid Avenue.
Possibly related to the power outage and traffic signal outage, Buffalo Grove Fire Department Ambulance 25 was hit at Arlington Heights Road and Olive Street in a minor crash with no injuries. The car that hit the ambulance was initially thought to have been driven by a driver that fled the scene, but the car returned with a damaged front end.
The power line may have burned through during higher electricity load in hot weather.
Several offices were without power south of the shopping center, Caputo and Walgreens had power as of 1:00 p.m.
ComEd reports 212 customers were without power Monday afternoon with an estimated restoration time of 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Actual restoration might be closer 3:00 p.m. or later.
