Detectives say Ronald Lee Haskell shot 5 children and 2 adults after a domestic dispute.
Ronald Lee Haskell, age 33, a gunman dressed as a delivery man wearing a FedEx shirt, forced his way into his sister-in-law’s Spring, Texas home (Houston suburb) where he held her children at gunpoint until their parents arrived. Haskell opened fire and killed four of the children and the two adults. The children killed were two boys ages 4 and 14, plus two girls ages 7 and 9. The adults were the children’s parents — Katie Stay, age 33, and Stephen Stay, age 39. All were dead when police arrived. Haskell was the estranged husband of Katie’s sister.
A seventh gunshot victim, a 15-year-old girl, who survived the grisly attack and called 911 to report the shooter’s plan to kill more people
Katie Stay traveled to Utah last fall to help her sister escape her relationship with Haskell and live in Texas.
On his 15-year-old niece’s report after surviving the a gunshot, Police located Haskell’s car and initiated a low-speed chase, which ended in a cul-de-sac. A standoff lasted more than three hours. In darkness Haskell exited the car, dropped to his knees and surrendered.
