Cook County Sheriff’s police and Bartlett firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:00 AM Monday to a report of a car-pedestrian incident near Golf Road and Route 59 Hoffman Estates, IL. Cook County Sheriff’s police report that a 56-year-old man was driving a Nissan Versa westbound on Golf between Rohrssen Road and Route 59 at 5 a.m. when he realized he hit something and stopped to investigate. He noticed the body of a pedestrian in the roadway and called 911.
Guierrez-Gomez was struck and killed by the car in a stretch of Golf Road with wooded areas on both sides. The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing in pre-dawn conditions, which made it difficult for the driver to see the pedestrian.
