Some power was out in the area of the intersection and downtown Arlington Heights.
Firefighters arrived to find the flag pole damaged with the Village of Arlington Heights flag down. The flag was not burning. A flood light and flag pole casing were blasted off of the pole. The globe at the top of the flag pole was also blown off of the top of the pole.
Firefighters cordoned off the area of the flag pole and contacted public works to secure and repair the damage.
