Two tornadoes touch down in northeast Nebraska near Pilger, Nebraska (stormchasingvideo.com).
Video captured Monday afternoon showed a pair of distinct wedge tornados heading east as storm chasers followed. The first reports of damage came from near Stanton at about 3:45 p.m. Pilger, Nebraska (population 350) was hardest hit.
At lest 16 victims were transported toFaith Regional Health Services in nearby Norfolk and listed in critical condition. Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger later confirmed that a 5-year-old child died in the tornado. Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger said several of those with critical injuries were found near Pilger’s Main Street.
Two large tornadoes were on the ground for over 15 minutes.
