Gas Leak Blocks Traffic at Northwest Highway and Plum Grove Rd, Palatine

Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:15 AM Tuesday to a report of a gas leak near Northwest Highway and Plum Grove Road Palatine, IL. Firefighters were investigating the area Tuesday morning.

At about 9:40 a.m. firefighters were waiting for the arrival of NICOR gas.

At about 10:50 a.m. Northwest Highway is blocked in both directions between Benton Street and Brockway Street. Northbound traffic on Plum Grove Road is blocked at Comfort Lane.

The precise “incident reported” time is not confirmed.

The gas leak was reported stopped at 11:08 a.m.
