The Arlington Heights Police Department in cooperation with Township High School District 214 will participate this summer in a four week Rapid Deployment /Tactical – Medical Training drill at John Hersey High School, 1900 East Thomas Street.
The purpose of Rapid Deployment/Tactical – Medical Training is for Arlington Heights Police personnel to be trained with a skilled response to an active shooter or immediate threat. Utilizing John Hersey High School will offer Arlington Heights Police personnel a school facility for general tactical training and also the opportunity for the first responders to become familiar specifically with the John Hersey High School facility.
Rapid Deployment/Tactical – Medical Training and familiarity with Hersey High School is essential for optimal performance of the local law enforcement agency in an actual emergency. In addition, the Arlington Heights Police Department, as part of Township High School District 214, will offer a training day for all District 214 School Resource Officers.
Training is scheduled 8 AM – 4 PM on the following dates:
June 23, 24, 25, 26
July 15, 16, 17, 18
July 21, 22, 23, 24, 25
July 28, 29, 30, 31
Palatine police have been involved in similar training, which also involved firefighter/paramedics staging near a school, and involved with the details and management of casualties in the training scenario.
