Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:42 AM Wednesday to a report of a train that hit a pedestrian Northwest Highway and Rohlwing Road Palatine, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that Union Pacific reported a train on the Union Pacific Northwest Line hit a pedestrian between Rohlwing Road and Hicks Road.

Train #622, scheduled to arrive Chicago at 8:13 a.m., is stopped north of Arlington Park due to a pedestrian incident. All inbound and outbound train movement has been halted near the Arlington Park station. The duration of this delay is unknown but extended delays are anticipated at this time.
The location is on the tracks south of Northwest Highway between Forest Avenue and Elmwood Avenue.
Police were first on the scene and reported the victim was deceased.
Rolling Meadows firefighter/paramedics also responded as the incident was in Rolling Meadows jurisdiction.
Rohlwing Road crossing is open. The train was inbound — hitting the pedestrian west of Rohlwing Road and stopping east of Rohlwing Road.
Expect delays on eastbound Northwest Highway.
