Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:45 AM Monday to a report of a house fire in the block of 300 South Windsor Drive Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of fire and smoke showing from a first floor window.

Engine 2 crew first on arrival reported heavy fire and immediately went to work extinguishing the fire, which was extinguished within ten minutes.
A crew also immediately went to work to search the house. There was an initial report on the scene that a man might still be in the house. A search of the home did not find any victims inside the home.
Firefighters soon learned that no residents were in the home when the fire was discovered by neighbors.
The Village of Arlington Heights Building Department and Com Ed responded to the scene. Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire.
