Oak Park police and firefighters responded about 4:10 a.m. to a house fire at 814 South Clinton Avenue near Jackson Boulevard. Fire crews on the scene reported one house was fully involved and two more were “about to go” Sunday before dawn.

At 4:24 a.m. Oak Park fire command requested a MABAS Box Alarm, and quickly elevated the alarm to the second level at 4:29 a.m. and to the third level at 4:43 a.m.
Attempts to contact Nicor Gas began about 4:47 a.m. There was a request to expedite Nicor to the scene at about 5:16 a.m. Nicor was advised of an emergency and replied with a thirty minute ETA and then a one hour ETA. Nicor arrived on the scene shortly before 6:15 a.m. The fire was declared under control at about 5:55 a.m.
Firefighters from Bellwood, Berwyn, Broadview, Cicero, Elmwood Park, Forest Park, Maywood, North Riverside, and Stickney responded mutual aid to the fire scene or to stand by in Oak Park fire stations.
