Illinois State Police and Oak Park and/or Forest Park firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:29 AM Tuesday to a rollover semi-trailer truck crash eastbound I-290 just west of Harlem Ave Forest Park, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a crash just east of Harlem Avenue. The crash was actually just west of Harlem Avenue by about 100 feet.
The truck driver was trapped in the cab of his truck, but was reported uninjured. No other injuries were reported. All lanes are blocked and eastbound I-290 is shut down at Harlem Avenue and is shut down at 1st Avenue.
One other vehicle was involved in the crash.
The semi-trailer was carrying 52,000 pounds of beer. There is an extended operation to transfer the load of beer to another semi-trailer and upright the truck.
The crash is expected to be cleared about 5:00 a.m. but some lanes were opened by about 3:45 a.m.
