Team members refuse to wear the team’s logo, the president denounces the comments.
Dear Paul B Peeps,
Billionaires Black Bilious Blasphemy Blasts Basketball. Can I write, or what? Just had to create another “headline first” to get your attention. Does a rich man who owns a basketball team — made up of mostly black athletes — give him the right to avoid or alienate himself from them? Must he party with them, invite them to his home for dinner, or spend any time at all with them? No! He pays athletes millions of dollars to play the game. He has been known to furnish them with apartments, cars, vacations, etc. with little, if any, repayment. His goal to keep them happy. He has been “outed” as a racist for his jealous outburst against his ex-girlfriend and her pictures with black athletes. I think there are two sides here that need to be exposed, discussed and investigated. Donald Sterling has NEVER been considered one to show much love for minorities, it has been publicly acknowledged he has discriminated in rental agreements. Everyone out in L.A. knows of his real-estate holdings and his statements against Blacks and Hispanics as tenants. His labeling as a racist SHOULD have been exposed years ago. I cannot condone his conduct nor this secret taping of his comments by his then mistress. I smell a rat here, and it is most likely this “ex-mistress.” V. Stiviano. What a great scam, to secretly tape a discussion with Sterling about her Instagram pics with Magic Johnson and other black athletes. Was Sterling jealous? I bet he was. Did this little vixen set him up with her Sony? I would bet you a dollar to a dime that she did. He is wrong for saying “don’t bring blacks with you to games,” and “don’t take pics with blacks.” I do feel that his remarks may have been provoked for reasons of “blackmail.” It’s not such a farfetched possibility. She knew her boyfriend of 80 — who was and is still married — just might go back to his wife. A scandal just waiting to happen, I presume.
There is no place in sports, or the world, for that matter, for Bigotry, or Prejudice of any kind. We are all minorities, in some way shape or form? We are black, red, white, short, fat, too thin, too tall, bald, too short, too talkative, too quiet, too poor, too rich, and some are “just too perfect” (they bug me the most). But, we need to accept everyone as they are! I love people, especially the kind and friendly ones. Let Sterling explain his tirade, I think there might be more than meets the eye ……
The NBA is planning a Tuesday news conference to discuss the investigation into embattled Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, who is alleged to have made racist comments in a taped conversation.
Things are about to get real serious for the NBA … Al Sharpton tells TMZ Sports he’s planning on contacting the NBA’s major advertisers to get them to pull their sponsorship if the league does not suspend Donald Sterling ASAP.
Now that Magic Johnson has had a little time to process the racist comments of Donald Sterling — directed at Magic himself — he’s very clear … Sterling either has to sell the L.A. Clippers voluntarily or he should be forced to do it.
