Rescuers pulled three children out of a minivan after of a pregnant mother deliberately drove it into the Atlantic Ocean on Daytona Beach. Police had visited the mother after her sister called 911. They noticed she was acting strangely but did not see a reason to take her into custody.
Police visited the woman who is charged with attempted murder of her three children in the Daytona Beach surf two hours before the incident, and after a report from her sister that she was acting strangely. The police officer did not detect a reason to take her into custody or to have her hospitalized.
