Snow is expected to begin about 9:00 a.m. Monday with heavy snow during the day — especially between noon and 5:00 p.m. with thunder may be heard during the snow storm. Locally 10 inches are possible in thundersnow areas. Snow is forecast to diminish about 6:00 p.m. with flurries continuing until about 8:00 p.m. Total accumulation forecast for Arlington Heights: 6.4 inches.
A little heavier snow forecast south — Joliet about 7.0 inches. South of Joliet? Less snow — more of a Wintry Mix.
